Microwave Digestion and ICP-MS Determination of Major and Trace Elements in Waste Sm-Co Magnets

In this article, inductively coupled plasma mass-spectrometry (ICP-MS) and optical-emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) were used for the development of an analytical procedure analysis waste Sm-Co magnets. Experimental parameters related to microwave digestion processes acid concentrations optimized. Microwave was carried out in mixtures HF, HCl, HNO3 H2SO4. The complete dissolution samples occurred system: 10 mL H2O, 2 HNO3, HCl 1 dependence matrix effect on ICP-MS magnets studied optimal instrumental investigated (nebulizer gas flow, sampling depth potential at extractor lens). conditions a nebulizer flow 0.85–0.90 L/min, 101, lens −400 V sample rate 50 rpm.
